Detained human rights lawyers sue govt for RM85m

The four lawyers detained by the police when they attempted to enter Section 11 police station to help in the release of the Seri Mariaman devotees who were arrested during the attempted demolition of the temple, today filed their suit against the arrest.

P Uthayakumar, P Waythamoorthy, M Manoharan and S Ganabathi Rao named the Inspector General of Police, chief police officers and OCCI of Selangor, OCPD and deputy OCPD of Shah Alam and the Government of Malaysia as defendants in their RM85 million suit for unlawful arrest and detention.
