A California teen has been arrested after his violent attack on his 18-year-old sister was posted online and went viral.

According to reports, the 17-year-old suspect and the victim, who were both intoxicated at the time of the altercation, were at their Fresno home when the fight broke out.

Cell phone video, presumably taken by one of the victim's family members, shows the boy dragging the girl by her hair and hitting her repeatedly.

Police said the teen stuffed a rag in his sister's mouth to muffle her screams and even attempted to pour water down her throat.

The victim was taken to the hospital where she was treated for a punctured eardrum, a punctured lung and a skull fracture.

The suspect is facing battery and false imprisonment charges.

According to police, the mother and another sister were in the home at the time of the altercation. It is unclear yet if they will face any chargers in the incident.
