Police on Thursday found the bodies of five people in Phoenix, Arizona home, killed in an apparent murder-suicide following a business dispute.

Nine people were inside the house before the shooting: three brothers, their mother, three women and two young children, the Arizona Republic reported.

Five bodies were found lying on the ground, a gun next to one of the men. Police believe the man near the gun killed his two brothers, his mother and another woman before turning the gun on himself, ABC15 Arizona reported.

Two women and two children survived the shooting. According to ABC15 Arizona, when the fight escalated, one of the women inside the house hid in the bathroom, while another escaped with the two children through the back door.

Once outside she called the police, who heard gunshots in the background.
She would later tell police that the shooting was a family dispute gone wrong, CBS News reported.

Police, including a SWAT team, rushed at the scene. After an hour-long standoff they sent two robots into the house via the front door, while SWAT team officers broke in through the back door. The woman hiding in the bathroom exited the house with her hands up, and footage from ABC15 Arizona shows officers escorting her away.

An investigation is now underway to determine whether anyone in the family had a history of domestic violence.
