Animals in the road: Stray dogs serious problem in HK, SPCA needs to be more vigilant - TomoNews

A few days ago a three car pile up on a major highway in Hong Kong was caused by a stray black dog who crossed the busy road.

The first driver, a 34 year old woman, said she saw the dog and slammed on her brakes because she didn’t want to hit it. She didn’t, but she wasn’t so lucky herself as the two cars immediately behind her slammed into her.

The dog, uninjured, made off before Hong Kong SPCA could arrive to capture it.

Animals on the loose near congested highways and roads are a serious concern in Hong Kong and when they cross into the road, drivers often panic, slamming on the brakes, and causing more havoc.
