Family suicides: Sisters attempt suicide together, one survivors to report to police - TomoNews
  • 9 years ago
Two unemployed sisters, ages 32 and 35, living in New Taipei City were feeling pressured by the families to get a job. Imagine that!

Unable to handle the stress of being pressured to get jobs or at least start searching the two sisters decided that they’d commit suicide together.

The elder sister looked up suicide methods on the Internet and decided she’d hang herself. So she got a rope and hung herself from the top rung of the bunk bed that she shared with her younger sister.

The younger sister said she couldn’t go through with the suicide after watching her elder sister die, but she checked her sister’s pulse to make sure she was dead before leaving her house to walk down to the district police station. She took her 3 year old daughter with her and they walked, because she said she didn’t want an ambulance to arrive too quickly and revive her dead sister.

When she arrived at the police station she said she’d strangled her elder sister, but after police investigation the coroner determined it was a suicide.

Police investigators recommended that the younger sister seek psychiatric help for depression and survivor’s guilt.
