The career of a special education teacher with 21 years of experience is heading toward the trash can after she was arrested for putting an autistic student in the rubbish.

Mary Katherine Pursley, 45, teaches at Mt. Bethel Elementary School in Marietta, Georgia. In dealing with a difficult second-grader, she compared the student to Oscar the Grouch from Sesame Street and put in him a trash can.
