APEC romance: Putin puts the moves on Xi Jinping’s wife, angers Chinese censors

Vladimir Putin, who is known more for taking things off, is actually causing a stir because he put something on this time at this year’s APEC summit in Beijing.
It seems like when Putin draped a shawl around Xi Jinping’s wife, while smiling at Xi, it got Chinese censors’ panties all bunched up.
The footage was shown on Chinese state television of Peng Liyuan smiling as she accepted the shawl on a frosty night in the Chinese capital. The CCTV commentator notes, “President Putin has placed a coat on Peng Liyuan.” Seconds later though, an aide takes it off.
The video quickly went viral and even generated its own hashtag on China’s Twitter knockoff Weibo.
Then the Chinese censors stepped in and soon searches for the video on Weibo and China’s messaging service WeChat only produced broken links and a few vanilla comments.
There has been no mention of Putin’s gentlemanly gesture on Xinhua or CCTV.
