YouTube censors LGBTQ+ vloggers
YouTube’s new restricted mode to hide “potentially objectionable content” is filtering out some LGBTQ+ vloggers. YouTube changed its restricted mode to enable users to cover videos that may have inappropriate content. Many vloggers among the LGBTQ+ community found that their videos had been restricted due to the change. Famous YouTube star Tyler Oakley, who has 8 million subscribers, noticed that his videos were flagged for content. Music duo Tegan & Sara also found that their music videos disappeared under restriction mode. YouTube released in a statement that they're "proud to represent LGBTQ+ voices" and apologize for the confusion.
