Tired drunk driver crashed into 5 pedestrians in early morning hours

A young man has been arrested in Taipei, after an early-morning crash that injured five pedestrians.
The young man worked at a KTV spot and would often work long hours and drink with customers. He’d just finished a 15 hour shift and was driving home drunk when he fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into the side of the road.
There were five pedestrians on the corner who were sent flying as the car barrelled into them.
The young driver was the first to call emergency services.
Two individuals have broken bones, one suffered severe road rash, and two others were hospitalized for minor internal bleeding.
The suspect’s family says the man is a young father who lives with his wife, three year old child and his mother. He became the sole income provider after his father passed away. His mother says that’s why he always worked long hours, to get enough overtime pay to provide for his family. But we think there’s no excuse for drinking and drive!
