The chase was through Penge at around 2pm this afternoon (Thur). London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance attended and two people were pronounced dead at the scene. Police have no further details yet of who the members of the public are at this stage. The driver of the car has been arrested and remains in custody at a south London police station. The Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed and The Independent Police Complaints Commission have been passed the case to investigate. The Met Police say enquiries into the collision continue.
