A study has found that drivers may have a racial bias towards black pedestrians as they had to wait at a crosswalk 32 percent longer than similarly dressed white counterparts before a car yielded.
Racial bias could be a factor in the way drivers react towards pedestrians.
In the first study of its kind, the team found enough evidence to conclude that “minority pedestrians experience discriminatory treatment by drivers at crosswalks.”
