Several countries request Korean police to extend protection for their diplomatic delegation

Following an appalling attack on the U.S. Ambassador to Korea Mark Lippert last week,... several countries have requested the Korean police to extend protection for their diplomatic delegation.
Korea National Police Agency chief Kang Sin-myeong made the announcement at Wednesday's government-ruling party meeting... and added that extra protection for diplomatic delegations in Korea will be provided.
Security guards will be deployed,... even without prior request,... if circumstances are deemed dangerous.
Kang added that officers started providing 24-hour security to the U.S. Ambassador and his wife,... immediately after the attack,... and also sent security guards to protect the Japanese ambassador to Korea.
