STORY: The U.S. Navy has released video dated Thursday (September 25) showing aircraft launches from USS George H.W. Bush in the Gulf.

These aircraft flew missions over Iraq and Syria in support of strikes against Islamic State militants, according to the Navy.

F/A-18 Hornets and EA-6B Prowlers have been repeatedly launched from the aircraft carrier to support strike, surveillance and reconnaissance missions over Iraq. The Pentagon says these missions help increase U.S. capacity to target militants and coordinate the activities of the U.S. military across Iraq and into Syria.
