U.S. Navy release video of new aircraft strikes against Islamic State

The U.S Navy released video on Saturday (October 4) of flight deck operations aboard the USS George H.W.Bush. The Navy said the video, shot on Friday, showed aircraft and helicopters taking off from the naval carrier in the Arabian Gulf to conduct strikes against Islamic State (IS).
U.S.-led coalition warplanes had struck at Islamic State targets overnight to halt the insurgents' advance towards the Syrian border town of Kobani.
Previous coalition air strikes have failed to stop the insurgent offensive and an estimated 180,000 people have fled across the border into Turkey to escape the fighting around Kobani - a conflict now overshadowing Syria's wider civil war.
