Third British hostage paraded by Islamic State militants

A new video has emerged of a British national believed to be missing journalist John Cantlie, allegedly held hostage by Islamic State (ISIL) militants.
He becomes the third Briton to be paraded by ISIL, after aid worker David Haines was beheaded and Alan Henning, currently held under threat of death.
The hot war continues to unfold with amateur video purporting to show Kurdish peshmerga in a firefight with Islamic State militants in northern Syria.
The London based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says ISIL have captured 21 Kurdish villages close to the Turkish border with Syria.
In northern Iraq peshmerga say they driven Islamic State out of a number of areas.
The international response to the threat of militants in Iraq and Syria has been stepped up with Canada, the US and the Czech Republic coming together to provided weaponry to the Iraqi government and Kurdish fighters.
In Germany, soldiers prepared a cargo of arms bound for northern Iraq following approval by the Bundestag at the end of August.
Germany will then bring in 20 peshmerger for training before returning them to Iraq with the weapons.
