TORTILLA MAKING ROBOT MINIONS!?! - Food Feeder

Okay, it's more of a countertop cooking appliance, but still. Starting right now, you can pre-order an automated tortilla-making machine that will supposedly be available some time in 2015. Score one for convenience. Score minus one for counter top space.

Flatev has started a waiting list for its instant tortilla making robot, er machine. It's technology very reminiscent of those single-cup coffee brewers found in offices and homes across America. But instead of little pods of coffee, the Flatev works with little pods of tortilla dough, which are made from actual monosyllabic food-ingredients. Actual, fresh tortillas are 3,651 times better than the store-bought kind (SCIENCE!), but the flatev has its drawbacks. namely, it takes up the counter space you're currently using for your margarita blender, and each pod is make of landfill-boud plastic. Plus, the pods are like $1 each. which is an awful lot of money for two tablespoons of flour and water (MATH!)

Are you going to put your name on the Flatev pre-order list? Do you think the pros outweigh the const of this device? have you ever made tortillas from scratch? Often enough to get a robot to do it for you? Or do you buy the pre-packaged tortillas in the supermarket like a normal person, and think Noah is a smug food elitist for even suggesting making homemade tortillas?
