Woman attacked by water bomb thrown off building in Hong Kong

Two women were attacked by a plastic bag water bomb hurled from a building while they were enjoying a late night snack at a Hong Kong eatery on Wednesday.

The incident occurred around 2 a.m. when the 35-year-old victim, surnamed Liu, and her friend were seated outside a Japanese yakitori bar in Changsha Street (長沙街) in the Mongkok entertainment district (旺角) when suddenly the projectile was thrown from a 11-storey apartment building. The water bag landed on Liu's head, soaking her but leaving her otherwise unharmed.

The restaurant attracts so many customers that it has set up extra seats outdoors to accommodate guests.

Police suspect that the water bomb attack may be a form of protest as some residents are unhappy with the noise.
