Masala Khichdi - मसाला खिचड़ी - Easy To Make Simple Homemade Main course Rice Recipe

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 कटोरी मूँग दाल
1/2 कटोरी चावल
1 टमाटर
1 पियाज़
धनिया पत्ता
1 कटोरी उबली हुयी सब्जियां ( आलू , मटर , ग्वार फली )
2 tbsp घी
1 tsp लहसुन का पेस्ट
1 tsp लाल मिर्च पाउडर
1/4 tsp हल्दी पाउडर
1/2 tsp गरम मसाला
1/2 tsp काला नमक
नमक
सुखी लाल मिर्च
2 लौंग
2 दालचीनी
1 tsp जीरा

METHOD-
- Mix rice and moong dal together with water and turmeric powder.
- Pressure cook it for 3-4 whistles.
- Heat 1 and 1/2 tablespoons of clarified butter (ghee) in a round bottom pan.
- Once its hot, add cumin seeds, cinnamon, cloves and dry red chilli.
- After few seconds, add onions, coriander leaves, chopped tomatoes.
- Add all the spices - garam masala, red chilli powder.
- Add black salt and regular salt as per taste. Cook this till the tomatoes turn soft.
- Add the pressure cooked rice and daal mixture.
- Add water and mix it well.
- Add all the mixed boiled vegetables.
- Add water as required. Cover the pan and let the khichdi simmer for 5 minutes.
- Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot with roasted papad and mango pickle.
