Ring of Combat returned with "Ring of Combat 47" at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey and streaming on the GFL Combat Sports Network. ROC 47 was highlighted by five title fights on a 12-bout professional card that featured 10 stoppages. ROC continues to be the linchpin of East Coast MMA and reasserts its dominance as the top dog in the Tri-State area.

In the main event, Chris Wade (6-1) defeated Pat Defranco (4-3) via rear naked choke in the second round to win the vacant ROC Lightweight Championship. Wade used a strong wrestling base to put Defranco away after controlling most of the fight. In the early going the two clinched up with Wade scoring with knees from the position. Wade scored a takedown and connected with some punches from the guard as he contained Defranco on the mat. Wade moved to mount and tried to isolate an arm for an arm triangle but the bell sounded ending the first round. In the second, Wade again got the fight to the mat where he scored with punches from the top until finally sinking in a choke that was equal parts technical skill and strength as he cranked away and got the tapout.

In other action, with the ROC Bantamweight Title at stake, Julio Arce (5-0) defeated Jason McLean (6-7) via unanimous decision. Arce displayed amazing standup and really showed his skills in all areas of the fight as he stayed one step ahead of the compact and powerful McLean. Arce kept the fight on the feet where he used a strong clinch game landing pinpoint knees, punches and elbows that racked up point after point. It was a strong showing by the new champion.

Keith Berish (4-0) defeated Ariel Sepulveda (6-7) via rear naked choke in the first round to win the ROC Middleweight Title. Berish showed off his grappling advantage from the get go with a strong takedown. Sepulveda tried to buck Berish off of mount but Berish quickly transitioned to a choke that cut off the blood flow to Sepulveda's head as Sepulveda went unconscious. It was an eye-opening win for the new champion Berish who showed he is a tough test for anyone at 185 lb.

James Jenkins (7-1) defeated Adam Kantaev (0-1) via strikes in the second round to win the ROC Featherweight Title. Jenkins was strong with his wrestling as he got multiple takedowns throughout the fight and scored inside of Kantaev's guard. In the second round, Jenkins got another takedown and pummeled away with furious strikes until the ref waived the fight off.

The ROC Welterweight Belt was up for grabs as Elijah Harshbarger (7-4) defeated UFC vet Chris "C-Murder" Cope (6-4) via rear naked choke in the third round to claim the title. Harshbarger's wrestling was the difference as he got multiple takedowns throughout the fight and sealed the deal with one in the third round and locked on a body triangle before ending the fight with rear naked choke shortly after. It was a grueling fight with some early clinch work that Harshbarger used to his advantage to wear down Cope.

You won't find a more thrilling card then this one. Be sure to catch all of the action as Ring of Combat presents "Ring of Combat 47" exclusively on pay-per-view at GFL.tv.
