Son Watches Elderly Father Die in Hit-and-Run

An 81-year-old man in San Diego was recently pronounced dead after being struck by a hit and run driver. Tragically the victim’s son witnessed everything.

An 81-year-old man in San Diego was recently pronounced dead after being struck by a hit and run driver. Tragically the victim’s son witnessed everything.

The elderly male, Alonso Flores Pacheco, attempted crossing a busy boulevard. A vehicle that had been traveling down the westbound lane struck Pacheco. He passed away at the scene of the accident.

The motorist immediately fled. Pacheco lived in a trailer park directly across from the accident scene.

Family members of the victim claimed he had walked to the nearby Bank of America ATM and was crossing the street to get back home when he was struck.

Pacheco’s son, who went along for the walk, had already made it safely to the roadside. He was waiting for his dad to get across when he saw the vehicle strike and kill him.

Police are currently searching for the fleeing driver. The vehicle has been described as a 1990s model, dark colored Sedan with oxidized paint on the roof.

The driver’s side window was missing and there was damage to the front end. According to witnesses, two men were inside the car at the time of the hit and run.
