CCTV footage showing an elderly woman getting run over by four separate vehicles in a gruesome multiple hit-and-run, has shocked netizens across China, according to an Apple Daily report.

The incident took place on March 6 at 5:10 a.m. in the city of Lishui, in the eastern province of Zhejiang.

The disturbing footage shows a pedicab plowing into the woman as she attempts to cross the street. The driver exits the rickshaw in what looks to be an attempt to help the woman. But instead, leaves her lying crumpled in the middle of the road, where three more vehicles proceed the run over her. All the while, the more than 20 cars passing by her, do nothing to help.

She was confirmed dead at the scene by authorities.
