It’s wise to constantly look over your shoulder and scan your surroundings. Police in New York City are currently investigating a shocking crime involving a gang assault on a male fashion student.

The victim, 22-year-old Taj Patterson claimed he had been out with his friends in Brooklyn on the evening of December 1st, when a group of approximately 15 men ambushed him from behind.

The suspects were described as Hasidic Jews and they were reportedly wearing reflective religious attire at the time of the unprovoked attack. Patterson was punched, kicked, pushed to the ground and knocked unconscious.

Thankfully, witnesses to the crime stopped the gang and called emergency workers. The suspects were able to flee. Patterson was transported to a local hospital.

He is now recovering from serious injuries including a torn retina and broken eye socket. Although Patterson was intoxicated at the time of the assault, he believes the gang may have disliked the way he was dressed.
