U.N. chief calls Syrian attack "worst use of WMD in the 21st century"

A U.N. report on the Aug. 21 attack in Syria confirmed "unequivocally and objectively" that chemical weapons were used, according to U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
"It is the most significant, confirmed use of chemical weapons against civilians since Sadam Hussein used them in Halabja in 1988, the worst use of weapons of mass destruction in the 21st century," Ban said.
As expected, the report did not say who carried out the attack. Ban went on to add, "do not slaughter your people with gas," although he did not assign blame for this specific incident.
