A suspect looking to rob the shop called Beer 30 which is located on East Logan Street got quite a surprise after the clerk pulled out his own firearm. The store worker, 54-year-old Jon Lewis Alexander managed to completely turn the tables on the would-be robber.

Alexander had been working the night shift when the suspect walked into the establishment smoking a cigarette, brandished a gun and demanded money.

Alexander wasn’t going down easily. Store surveillance showed him reaching for his holster and quickly producing his own, loaded 9 mm handgun. He immediately used one hand to grab the culprit while the other pointed the firearm at the suspect’s mouth and told him to leave before his head got blown off.

The robber quickly backed away and left the store. No one was injured and no shots were fired.

Alexander, who served 30 years in the military and did four tours of duty in Iraq, is hoping to send the footage of the thwarted robbery to the National Rifle Association.
