More and more Irish people are heading overseas. During the economic boom of the 1990s, Ireland was seen as an attractive destination for foreign workers, but that time has passed.
In particular young men from rural areas are taking their job hunt beyond Ireland's borders. Favored destinations include Canada, as well as traditional ones like Britain and the US.
