Not so for one couple who forgot to take their baby with them and to make matters worse, this happened while they were stealing.
It happened in Badalona, which is part of the larger Barcelona metropolitan area.
The duo was seen sneaking some merchandise in their bags at a store and they left in a hurry after realizing the staff was onto them.
The infant was left behind. They returned a day later looking for their baby and were arrested by the police.
As scary as it sounds, babies are left behind, more often than we'd like to see. Wrapping up a grocery shopping trip, a Kentucky father of three loaded up the bags and 2 kids in the car but left his 6 month old remaining in the shopping cart and drove off. The horrified dad quickly realized his mistake, called police and drove back to claim his unharmed baby.
