Smoke bomb [ 2 ] vigorous faillure

KNO3 and sugar were mixed in 60 / 40 ratio and baking soda was added to slow down the reaction.
Somehow it did the opposite and became a flame thrower.

Ingredients : 180g KNO3, 120g white sugar, melt and mix to a paste ( almost like peanut butter ) add 3 table spoons of baking soda in the mix. It rises to nearly twice in size. put in container, allow for small hole for a fuse or sparkler before mix hardens.

Maybe because I didn't add the dye, which I don't have, may have made the reaction more aggressive. -- please tell me --

People making these things should be aware that it is actually a very dangerous experiment, that is why I upload this video.
Most websites tell you that it is a reasonable safe project to do.
You need to keep distance and use a sparkler, not a match to light one of these from nearby.
