The military has set up aid distribution points for food and water in quake-hit towns across Chile, as the list of identified dead and missing persons grow longer.

The government says nearly 800 people were killed in the magnitude 8.8 earthquake, but many fear the figure will increase in the coming days.

In the town of Constitucion efforts are under way to locate those who have been missing since Saturday's quake.
