Haitians face harsh realities in fight for aid

Security has become essential to efficient distribution of aid as thousands of Haitians displaced by last week's earthquake face the realities of life in the devastated capital Port-au-Prince.

But amid the death, disorder and devastation, some elements of normality are beginning to return.

Rescue efforts are slowly winding down as humanitarian workers start to focus on delivering supplies and treating injured survivors.
