Obama calls Karzai after Afghanistan attack.

President Barack Obama made a phone call to Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Sunday to express his "shock and sadness" over the reported killing of Afghan civilians by a U.S. soldier.
In a statement released by the White House, the president extended his condolences to the Afghan people and said that his administration was working to establish the facts and would hold full accountable anyone responsible.
U.S. officials say a staff sergeant has been detained in connection with what some have characterized as a shooting rampage in Kandahar province. Afghan officials say a U.S. solder member burst in their home around 2am and opened fire -- killing 16 people including nine children.
The incident, one of the worst of its kind war began in 2001, has done damage to the already strained relations between Washington and Kabul.
