Violent clashes erupt in Bahrain
Clashes on the streets of Diraz, west of Bahrain's capital Manama.

Security forces fire tear gas into crowds of demonstrators.

Protesters respond by throwing petrol bombs and other missiles.

Activists had been marching in a funeral procession of a 22-year-old Shi'ite man who died after earlier clashes.

The young protester is thought to have died after being hit in the head by a tear gas canister.

A police statement confirmed he was struck in the head by a hard object.

Police began firing tear gas on Saturday after the funeral in an attempt to clear the crowds.

Authorities ended martial law in June of last year, but activists say at least 28 people have died since then, many from the effects of tear gas.
