Bungee jumper plummets into Zimbabwe river

Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.
Australian tourist Erin Langworthy leaps from a bridge 25m above the raging Zambezi River.
And suddenly…
As the bungee cord snaps, she plummets into the water below.
Onlookers gasp as they search the river for signs of the 22-year-old.
Amazingly, despite the fact that her legs were tied together with the bungee cord, she managed to pull herself to shore.

"When I was first pulled out of the water, they put me on my back, and so all the water that I'd inhaled meant that I couldn't breathe. So I made them roll me onto my side, and that's when I started coughing out water and blood."
Langworthy was evacuated to South Africa, where she spent a week in hospital recovering from cuts and bruises - but no serious injuries.

"Yes, I think it's definitely a miracle that I survived."
Meanwhile, the company that runs the bungee jump maintains its plunges are safe.
