CSR Minute: CR Magazine to Hold COMMITForum; Banorte Nominat

Is CSR a waste of money? That’s the topic to be debated at CR Magazine’s COMMITForum, to be held in New York this September. Two teams will present their cases for and against the resolution, “Resolved that when companies expend resources on corporate responsibilities and sustainability, they destroy economic value.” COMMITForum is supported by the New York Stock Exchange and several NGOs, including the Global Reporting Initiative and the U.S. Green Building Council.

Grupo Financiero Banorte of Mexico has been nominated for the award “Sustainable Bank of the Year,” granted annually by The Financial Times and the International Finance Corporation. Banorte is one of the finalists in the Latin America category.
