Tai Chi: Lifting Hands to Shoulder Strike - part of the women's fitness video series by GeoBeats.

Hello, my name is Tiffany Chen, I am from William C.C. Chen's Tai Chi Chuan. We are going to work on Lifting the Hands into Shoulder Strike.

Begin by turning to your left, left foot in front, right leg behind. Make sure your shoulders and hips are squared off in direction that you are facing. Lift the left palm up in front of you and right arm just extends out next to you slightly bent at the elbow and the fingers hooking around the thumb.

One; raise the heel. Two; turn. Open up the right palm sinking, and it looks like my elbow are rolling up but I am actually sinking below the level of my elbows. And now step in on the heel of the right foot while rolling the elbows down and it is going to feel like you are squeezing your thighs together.

Now step back lowering both palms and now step back out with the right foot, but now setting it down. And as we sink into the right leg, the left palm floats up and we are going to energize and just bring the left palm into the right shoulder into shoulder strike. And this completes the segment of movements.
