To inform your guest about where they are seated you would have a table at the entrance to the reception hall that they can pick up there table assignments. The most formal way is to have what is called an escort card which is a small envelope with their name on it and when they open it, it says 'you are seated at table 1' or 'table 2'.

But there are some really fun creative things that you can do instead of doing the formal escort card. I had one bride that bought an antique vintage door and string ribbon across and close pin all the cards to the ribbons. I have also seen large bulletin boards with shabby sheek antique frames and they pin the cards up to the board. So there are some really fun things that you can do to kind of give it a unique spin.

Another really great idea is to name the table something different then just numbers. So I had one bride that got married at the top of the ski mountain and she named her tables after different ski resorts that her and her husband had skied out together.
