China is seeing alternative wedding celebrations amid the coronavirus pandemic which prompted bans on large gatherings and banquet parties. Some Chinese couples have decided to live-stream their wedding online, attracting millions of “guests” who often send virtual gifts and “coins”.  Meanwhile, divorce inquiries have been on the rise in China since families and couples end up fighting more often while lockdowns force them to spend more time together at home.
