Temple of Debod - Great Attractions (Madrid, Spain)

Take a tour of Temple of Debod in Madrid, Spain – part of the World’s Greatest Attractions series by GeoBeats. It seems nearly out of place in Madrid, a little taste of Egypt in Spain. The Temple of Debod dates back to the 2nd century BC, but in southern Egypt. However, when the Great Dam of Aswan was built, the temple had to be relocated. Egypt donated the entire structure to Spain, where it stands in the Parque del Oeste. This ancient temple is peacefully secluded from the city and open to visitors. The temple looks especially beautiful in the evenings, when the stone structures are lit up.
