00:00I don't agree with the Chancellor's analysis and actually we should start with the facts which on
00:04the 5th of July when Labour came into office, what they took on was the fastest growing economy in
00:09the G7, the deficit halved since we came into government in 2010, inflation down at 2% and
00:16unemployment at a historic low. So against the backdrop of all the pressures, the challenges of
00:21the pandemic, the war in Ukraine, actually that is a strong economic legacy that Labour took on
00:26and they knew that because the Office of Budget Responsibility, the OBR, means that the books are
00:31open, they can see the figures. So I think what Labour and Rachel Reeves are doing here is rolling
00:37the pitch, setting out a narrative that's going to lead to them announcing tax rises potentially
00:42as soon as the autumn.
