“He was the bravest of the brave”: Sheffield war hero Arnold Loosemoore with rare combination of honours remembered

A memorial service was held at the All Saints Church Ecclesall on April 10 to mark the 100th anniversary of the death of Sergeant Arnold Loosemoore, a Sheffield gardener who was awarded the Victoria Cross during WWI, and whose tragic passing, as well as the awful treatment of his wife by local authorities afterwards, is still remembered today.
