Stellantis Uses Remote Work Notice to Lay Off 400 US Tech and Engineering Workers
  • 28 days ago
Stellantis used a mandatory remote work notice to lay off around 400 salaried tech and engineering workers in the US. During the remote meeting, employees were told they were being laid off as part of restructuring efforts. Stellantis said it made "structural decisions" to improve costs amid uncertainties. The company plans to invest over $50 billion in EVs through 2030 but faces slower growth and more hybrid demand. An employee who was part of a group laid off and spoke anonymously to WJBK Fox suggested that the mass firing was due to Stellantis's strategy of outsourcing jobs to lower-cost countries like India, Mexico, and Brazil.
