Appeal following football disorder
  • last month
West Midlands Police have released never-before-seen footage of the serious violence that broke out when Aston Villa played Legia Warsaw, as they appeal for the public’s help in tracing four men still wanted over the disorder.
Officers contained and dispersed away fans outside the ground before the game, but were subjected to 90 minutes of sustained violence on the evening of 30 November last year.
Dozens of arrests were made, and five officers, two police dogs and two police horses suffered minor injuries.
No home fans were arrested and there were no issues from Aston Villa supporters at any point.
