Side Presses are one of the VERY BEST lifts for Lockout Strength....Am l serious? You bet! Some of the Olde Time Strongmen, such as Bill & Stanley Pullum, as well as Sig Klein, could lift WELL OVER bodyweight! What makes this such an ESSENTIAL LIFT for Lockout Strength is that as the Triceps tire, you can move deeper under the weight. This will allow you to continue the set much further than on 'normal' Triceps work. The other big benefit to the Triceps is look at the angle of the Upper Arm(w/78lb) during the lift. WHEN do we do Lockout work with the arm level with the top of the shoulder? Can you think of a sport that would benefit from this ability to get lower to lockout a heavier weight?? God Bless!
