Dragon Parade in St Davids
  • 2 months ago
The Oriel y Parc Dragon Parade in the tiny Pembrokeshire city of St Davids started in sunshine and ended in a downpour but had a lot of fun along the way!

The crowd gathered at the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park attraction on Saturday, March 2 decided to call the baby dragon Dewi, after Dewi Sant (Saint David), patron saint of Wales in whose honour March 1 is declared St David’s Day.

Artist Kate Evans worked with the schools to make the parade dragon and the giant dragon egg.

The schools and groups who took part in the parade were:
- Care in the Community, St Davids with artist Elly Morgan;
- Ysgol Denrhyn Dewi, Year 2 and Year 4;
- Ysgol Ger y Llan, Letterston, Year 3/4;
- Holy Name Catholic Primary School, Fishguard, Reception;
- Cylch Meithrin, Croesgoch Playgroup.
