Trump's Removal from Illinois Primary Ballot Temporarily Halted by Judge's Stay
  • 2 months ago
An Illinois judge issued a ruling ordering Donald Trump's removal from the state's Republican primary ballot but immediately stayed the order pending appeal. The judge found Trump should be disqualified as a candidate under the Constitutional ban on "insurrectionists" related to Jan. 6, 2021. If removed from the ballot, any votes cast for Trump would be suppressed. Trump's campaign criticized the ruling as coming from an "activist Democrat judge" and said they would quickly appeal.
