A brave Serco binman has been hailed a hero after rescuing two people and a dog from a house fire in Tipton. Steve Whitehouse was on his round with driver Kevin Marriott when they spotted the blaze. He climbed up a wall onto the balcony to reach a screaming woman as the flames took hold.

The government has announced major upgrades for train services in Birmingham. The project has been made possible through reallocated HS2 funding. One of these upgrades will include the Cross-City line seeing trains every ten minutes.

Popular canalside bar The Brasshouse is set to reopen after its £304,000 investment. The huge investment has seen the front and back bar and cocktail bar revamped and there is more seating outside so that guests can enjoy the waterfront views.
