The survey was conducted by historians and political scientists as part of the Presidential Greatness Project. McEnany dismissed the results as from "ivory tower elites" who don't represent the American people. However, many people on social media pointed out Trump's unprecedented attempts to overturn the 2020 election and remain in power. They noted he was the only president impeached twice and who incited an insurrection at the Capitol.
