At a press conference on the launch of the “GOLD” number plate series bidding on Tuesday (Jan 30), Transport Minister Anthony Loke said portion of proceeds from the special number plates opened for bidding will be used to pay Social Security Organisation (Socso) contributions for some 40,000 taxi drivers.
