Over 64,000 Pregnancies Resulted from Rapes in States with Abortion Bans

A new research letter estimated that nearly 520,000 rapes were associated with 64,565 pregnancies across 14 states that implemented abortion bans after Roe v. Wade was overturned. The research was published in JAMA Internal Medicine and conducted by researchers, including the medical director at Planned Parenthood of Montana. Texas had the highest number, with 45% of the estimated rape-related pregnancies occurring in the state.
