Rahul Gandhi vs Himanta Biswas: Assam CM Directs Police To Book Congress Leader For Provoking Crowd
  • 3 months ago
On January 23, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared a video of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi alleging that he instigated the crowd to commit violence. The tweet came after CM Sarma instructed the Director General of Police (DGP) to register a case against Rahul Gandhi for allegedly "provoking the crowd". In his post, Sarma wrote, “Evidence is emerging as to how Rahul Gandhi and Jitendra Singh instigated the mob to kill Assam Police personnel. Our soldiers are servants of the public, not of any royal family. Rest assured, the law will definitely reach you.” Rahul Gandhi is leading the Manipur to Mumbai Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. Congress workers were stopped from entering Guwahati and then clashes erupted with the Assam police. In a separate post earlier, Sarma said "Naxalite tactics" are alien to Assam's culture.
