A lucky motorist narrowly escaped death or serious injury when the entire roof of a building was blown off and landed in a road during Storm Isha,.

Terrifying CCTV footage shows a car driving along Westgate Road in Belton, Lincs,. before the roof comes flying off a building.

The roof came off as Storm Isha caused major disruption in the UK as the strongest winds for decades have been recorded in some parts of the country.

The Met Office have even been issued a danger of life warning and told people to be aware of beach material being thrown onto beaches and flying debris inland.

The video was captured last night (January 21) on CCTV on by Chris Woollas, 50, who said he thinks the driver 'doesn't know how lucky they are.'

They said: "It's an old building that's currently being renovated.

"There's lots of scaffolding on it, but it's just blown the roof off.

"I saw the footage and thought that the person in the car doesn't know how lucky they are.

"If they had been driving a little bit slower, then the roof could have gone straight through the windscreen."
